Tuna is one of the most popular types of seafood and because of this tuna fishing is an extremely popular practise - both commercially and as a hobby.
Tuna - known as the rose of the sea - are one of the bigger fish available ranging from 35cm to more than 450cm long. Tuna have also been clocked swimming at more than 70kph (45mph). As a meal, tuna is full of protein and Omega 3 oils, and is a versatile and easy meat to prepare.
I've always been a keen fisherman, but it wasn't until I read the Advanced Secrets of Tuna Fishing that I could honestly class myself as a good fisherman.
There are many different types of tuna, each with its own distinct taste and look, but sadly, to feed the worldwide desire for this fish, it is clear to see that there has been an overfishing of this species. I fully support sustainable tuna fishing and I fully endorse the use of the right tuna fishing equipment and the appropriate tuna fishing methods.
